Algeria is on the brink of a severe drought. The county's agriculture ministry says cereal output dropped by almost 18 percent this year. This has been attributed to harsh climate conditions. Now the government has embarked on a cereal development programme, providing farmers with new technology , in the hope of raising the country's grain yield. Susan Mwongeli reports.
