Black Friday: Shopping Frenzy In S. Africa As Stores Drop Prices

Black Friday ushered in a shopping frenzy in South Africa. Most retailers dropped their prices and consumers rushed in - literally. There were reports of chaos in some stores and stampedes in the shopping malls. Black Friday is based on the day after thanksgiving in the US when retailers recorded their first set of healthy profits pushing them into the black. That was back in 1924. Sumitra Nydoo reports.
