An apartment building collapsed in Egypt's Alexandria on Wednesday (December 2) night, injuring some and killing at least 6 people, according to an official statement.
Orders for removal were previously issued but have not been implemented, Alexandria's governor, Major General Mohamed El-Sherif said in a video distributed to the press.
The video also showed rescue workers digging through the rubble with bulldozers, looking for survivors or bodies as civilians rushed the injured to ambulance cars.
El-Sherif said that 9 members of the two families were still missing at the time of the collapse. The search is ongoing.
