In a moving tribute to the late Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu, prime minister of the Zulu Kingdom Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi said he was looking forward to the reign of the Zulu Queen. Queen Mantfombi passed away on 29 April 2021, shortly after her husband King Zwelithini. KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala and former President Jacob Zuma were among the dignitaries in attendance at the memorial service on 7 May 2021.
