Chad's opposition denounces appointment of Deby's son as 'coup'

Published
The opposition in Chad has denounced what it is calling an "institutional coup".
That is after the son of slain President Idris Deby, Mahamat Deby, was appointed as leader.
The military, which announced Deby's sudden death on Tuesday, has promised elections in a year and a half.
But unions are threatening to strike, and rebels are planning to march on the capital.

Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from Ndjamena, Chad.
