In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Nations now says soldiers targeting the Kamwina Nsapu militia group in the central part of the country, have killed at least 101 people, including 39 women. Citing local sources, the UN says the soldiers fired indiscriminately with machine guns at militia fighters, who were armed mainly with machetes and spears. Hundreds have died and tens of thousands have been uprooted in central DR Congo in the recent past, in battles between security forces and the militia - who are seeking to avenge the death of their leader Kamwina Nsapu.
