Congolese Awaiting Appointment Of New Prime Minister

The Democratic Republic of Congo residents are awaiting word on who their new Prime Minister will be. That announcement is expected on Friday. President Joseph Kabila on Wednesday assured Congolese that the appointment will be made within 48 hours. [TAKE VO] President Kabila was addressing parliament. Under a peace deal to prepare the country for elections, Kabila needs to form a unity government. He'll remain president beyond his constitutional mandate, with a Prime Minister appointed from the opposition. But the peace talks collapsed last week and opposition supporters took to the streets. President Kabila in his address also assured that he's committed to restoring order to the troubled central Kasai region in which scores of people have been killed.
