Eastern Libyan govt resigned last night after protests in Benghazi, Al Marj and Al Bayda in Eastern Libya. Abdullah al Thani, the head of govt of Eastern Libya, submitted his resignation to Aguila Saleh, the speaker of Libyan HoR ( House of Representatives ) based in Tobruk in Eastern Libya. Libya’s HoR will discuss the resignation of Eastern Libyan govt in the next session. For the past few days, people have been flooding the streets of Eastern Libyan cities especially Benghazi against power outages, corruption and poor living conditions. On Sunday, in Benghazi protesters set fire to the buildings of Eastern Libyan govt. In Eastern Libya, LNA ( Libyan National Army ) of General Haftar is the real center of power followed by Libya’s HoR ( House of Representatives ). Will change of Eastern Libyan govt make any difference in the lives of Libyan people or is this move aimed at only pacifying the protesters? Meanwhile, United Nations Support Mission in Libya ( UNSMIL ) yesterday condemned the use of force against protesters in Al Marj. According to UNSMIL, atleast 01 protester was killed and several were injured and abducted in Al Marj protests. UNSMIL is calling for inquiry into the use of force against protesters in Al Marj in Eastern Libya.
