Egyptian mummy gets narrow save as rain damages antiques at Jaipur’s Albert Hall museum

A 2300-year old Egyptian mummy had a narrow escape when rainwater entered Jaipur’s famous Albert Hall museum. The water almost destroyed valuable documents, paintings, manuscripts and photographs as many parts of the museum was under 5ft water. The Albert Hall superintendent Rakesh Chholak said that it would take months to assess the damage caused to antiquities. Jaipur witnessed torrential rain on August 14, which saw many parts of the city flooded.
