Ethiopia's military is encircling the besieged capital of the Tigray region as the clock ticks down on a 72-hour ultimatium before military assault.

The Government has told the leaders of the province to surrender and warned civilians caught in the middle that there'll be "no mercy" if they don't "save themselves".
