Floods Leave Thousands Homeless In Southwestern Zimbabwe

Published
In Zimbabwe, the government has launched an appeal for foreign aid. The call comes as the country faces more food shortages following floods and an army worm outbreak that's destroying crops. Southwestern districts are the worst hit. Nearly a-thousand people are living in a makeshift camp after their homes were destroyed by heavy rains. Another 250 are believed to have died since December due to the widespread flooding. Zimbabwe's meteorological department has warned of further heavy rains, cautioning people to avoid rivers and bridges.
