Food Prices Rise As A Stubborn Drought Continues To Bite

Food prices have risen by an average 11 percent in the past year. The increase is largely a result of prolonged drought conditions and it's likely to get worse. The South African Reserve Bank expects food inflation to peak at around 12-point-6 percent by December. The high prices are eating away at consumers' monthly budgets.
