A former diplomat has warned that Egypt could intervene militarily in Libya to safeguard its own national security and stability. Egypt's former assistant foreign minister for Arab Affairs, Ahmed Al-Quesni, says deploying troops to Libya would send a message to Western countries not to get involved.
