Is Ethiopia's war over or just beginning?

Published
Ethiopia's federal army has taken control of the capital of the northern Tigray region after a month-long battle with the forces of its local government.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says this brings the conflict to an end. But does it really? Federal forces are now searching for the leadership of the TPLF regional government. Most are believed to be hiding to the west of the regional capital Mekelle and they have promised a guerilla campaign, which risks a protracted war that could draw other Horn of Africa nations in.

A burgeoning humanitarian crisis has yet to be meaningfully tackled and rights groups say Tigrayans are now being targeted for their ethnicity alone. In this episode of The Stream, we meet a panel of Ethiopians representing all sides of the debate to ask where this is going.
