The battle against Somali militant group al-Shabaab continues. The Kenya Defence Force has released a statement claiming a victory over the militants in the Jubbaland region of Somalia. In the statement the KDF says it killed 31 al-Shabaab fighters at the weekend. The army, with air support, conducted raids against two al-Shabaab bases. The KDF also destroyed two vehicles and captured weapons and ammunition from the militant bases. Several wounded militants are on the run.
