Locals in Malawi have been reacting to news that U.S. singer Madonna has adopted a pair of twins from the country. They are the third and fourth children she has adopted from the African country. On Wednesday, Madonna confirmed the adoption on social media. The claims first emerged at the end of January, but at the time, the Queen of Pop released a statement dismissing the claims. The head of Malawi's Congress of Trade Unions has called the adoption laughable. But others have welcomed the decision, saying Malawi has many poor orphans in need of families.
