The Mossel Bay Municipality in the Western Cape says the fire that has been raging has been contained in some areas. They include on the northern flank in Aalwyndal, the eastern flank in Island View and the southern flank on the N2. However, the fire is still active on the western flank – the farming area adjacent to Aalwyndal. Residents who were evacuated last night, have been allowed to return to their homes in the areas where the fire has been contained.
