New centre for children with special needs opens in Somalia

In Somalia, parents often do not realise that their child has special needs such as an autism spectrum disorder, thinking instead that they need to be locked away for being “possessed”.

A new school in the Somali capital Mogadishu is hoping to change that, serving hundreds of special needs children every year.
