New strain of HIV discovered

Published
Scientist recently reported they've discovered a rare new strain of the Human Immuno-deficiency Virus or HIV for the first time in 19 years.

According to Abbots Laboratories which made the discovery, the strain is part of the Group M version of the HIV-1 that is globally known. Because the virus has different strains and subtypes, it has the ability to change and mutate.
