Number Of Refugees Fleeing The Violence In South Sudan Is On The Rise

Published
The fighting in South Sudan has reportedly displaced thousands of people in Wau state. Around 3000 South Sudanese -- mostly women and children -- are seeking refuge in a local church. Others have sought shelter at a nearby UN base. There are however reports that the army has blocked the road to the base. Nearly 2 million people have been displaced since South Sudan's conflict began. Tens of thousands have fled across the border into Uganda. More arrive each week, putting immense strain on the Ugandan government and aid agencies.
