The UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission camp in Mali has been attacked. According to the UN, the camp in the city of Gao was hit by a car bomb, killing one Chinese peacekeeper and injuring three others. Over 10-thousand UN peacekeepers are based in Mali, including many from China. [TAKE VO] The fourth batch of 395 Chinese UN peacekeepers arrived in Mali in late May. They are there to repair roads, bridges, airport runways and barrack facilities. They are also responsible for camp security, treating the sick and wounded, and hygiene and disease control.
