A South African tradition that goes back more than 200 years has again been disrupted by the pandemic for a second year.
Musicians and dancers, some of whom have been involved in the celebrations since they were children, have continued to practise whenever COVID restrictions are eased.
But for now, events have been cancelled for another year.
