Messages of condolences are being sent following the death of a South African man during an attack on a hotel in Mali. Thirty eight-year-old Roelof Janse van Rensburg is among the 12 people killed at the Byblos Hotel in the town of Sevare. Two other South Africans survived the attack by suspected militants. The hotel which is popular among foreign nationals, came under siege from attackers on Friday.
Van Rensburg, a father of four from Pretoria, worked for an aviation company contracted to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the west African country.
