Nineteen African countries have signed a deal which aims to give companies better protection to copyright their plants and seeds, in the hope that it will improve yields and increase diversity of crops but farmers' groups say the deal would make it illegal for small farmers to save or exchange their own seeds - and force them to buy their seeds from big commercial companies.
