A year into a conflict between government forces and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), Ethiopia has seen thousands of lives lost and more than a million people displaced.

Now, a larger humanitarian crisis looms, with nearly half a million Ethiopians facing starvation.

International and regional diplomats are working to contain the conflict and stave off the spectre of famine. But is there a way to avoid catastrophe?

This week on UpFront, Marc Lamont Hill speaks with the adviser to the regional state government of Tigray and former UN ambassador, Fesseha Asghedom.
