Tunisian President Calls For EU Support In Fighting Terrorism

Tunisia's President Beji Caid Essebsi has called on the EU for support in tackling terrorism. Speaking at the European Parliament in Brussels, Essebsi said his country's security situation was directly linked to that of the 28-member bloc. President Essebsi arrived in the Belgian capital on Wednesday night for a series of bilateral meetings with European Parliament. Tunisia is on high alert after dozens of ISIL fighters stormed a town on its border with Libya in March. More than 50 people -- including civilians -- were killed in the raid. The country is also struggling to contain a jihadist threat from neighbouring Libya
