War in Western Sahara: The Polisario Front and the Conflict with Morocco, Explained

Land, Sand, Walls, Phosphate. On November 14th, the Polisario Front declared war on the Kingdom of Morocco, after 29 years of ceasefire. Now the situation threatens to spiral back into indefinite guerrilla warfare unless a de-escalation is reached.

But how did we get here? And what is Western Sahara, anyway? This video is a brief primer on 50+ years of history in the region, and what can be done to prevent further violence. Using Google Earth Studio, we explore the Berm, the Bou Craa mine, and the Refugee Camps in Algeria, among other sites of interest in Western Sahara.
