Waste management clean-up projects kick off in the Eastern Cape

The department of Environmental Affairs in the Eastern Cape has budgeted R17.9 million for 6 environmental projects in the province for this financial year.

The Koukamma municipality is one of the beneficiaries and a R2.6 million clean-up and waste management project is on the go in this ecologically sensitive tourism hotspot.

Doing away with waste and illegal dumping sights is high on the cards. Our reporter Iviwe Poti filed this report.
