Zimbabwe's electoral body has extended voter registration ahead of polls slated for later this year. Previous elections in Zimbabwe have been marred by allegations of ghost voters and rigging. This time the government has introduced a biometric voter registration system to make the process transparent. The initial registration period took place between September and December last year -- with 4.7 million people signing on to vote. But it's well below the target of 7.2 million. The electoral commission has since revised its target to 5 million people.
